Approval of Previous Minutes

  • Review and discuss previous meeting minutes

Principal's Report

  • Update on school achievements and goals
    • School Improvement plan and data reviewed 
    • Improving reading and student retention are top priorities
      •  Discussed Ideas of how to keep students engaged for all four years.
      • CTE traveling sometimes being an issue / possibly having CTE classes offered here or more online classes available.
      • Finding out what classes would fit this area best.
  • Discussion of any ongoing projects or initiatives
    • Locker rooms/gym (March 2025)
      • Optional Upgraded Seating
      • Ideas /businesses sponsor a row, individuals have option to buy a seat
      • Bleachers, Platform or upgraded seating 
      • Engineer has been to school with blue prints. 
    • Auditorium (Summer 2026)
    • Rebrand
      • Positive Overall response / looks nice to have it all uniform in color and logos with all sports / Unified Mark
      • Possibly a online school store for apparel
    • Shot/Discuss Pit
      • Just sand needs to be added / almost done
    • State service project funding
      • Upcoming Service Day
      • Improve NS on the hill
      • Have Funding for NS on the hill update.
      • Possibly purchase Solar lighting and materials this year /phase project/ Feb. 24th NS project if weather permits 
      • Quilting service project

Curriculum and Instruction

  • Discussion of teaching methods and strategies
    • SBG in full swing. Still improving. 
    • Pragmatic approach to helping the whole child
      • Kid Talk/SST 
      • Implementing meetings and interventions on how to help students who may be struggling
      • Thursday morning admin having discussions about kids that may be struggling  

School Climate and Safety

  • Discuss school climate and culture
  • Review safety procedures, protocols and improvements.
    • Vestibule and buzzer system
      • Security doors are in place and working
    • Guardians Update (Trying to fund SRO instead)
      • No longer going with Guardians
  • Address any concerns or issues related to student behavior, well being or safety

Budget and Finance

  • Review current School Trustlands Plan
  • Discussion of any proposed changes or adjustments
    • Increase student retention from 9th to 12th by 2% for each year. 
    • Part time employees (art, band classes, attendance secretary) paid out of trustlands
  • Input on fundraising efforts and community involvement
    • Booster Club
      • A Booster Club to help with setting up concession stands, ordering concessions to help lessen the load of teachers having to do these tasks.
      • Discussion of how to maybe get Booster Club going. Suggestions of people in the community that may be asked to get this going.
      • To run fundraisers to support clubs. Think of names and send names to school for Booster Club.

  • Discuss any new items or topics that were not on the agenda
  • Set the agenda for the next meeting
    • Introduction of new plan
    • Review any needed changes/priorities
