Get Involved with SSMS

Serve on the Community Council!

Parents/Guardians:

We are seeking nominations for individuals interested in serving as a member of the SSMS Community Council for the 2026-2027/2027-2028 school years. To be eligible, you must have a student enrolled in South Sevier Middle School both years.

Serving on the council is a 2-year commitment and includes SIX parent members and TWO school employee members.  This year there are FOUR parent member positions available.  The council meets several times throughout the school year, typically at 3:15 in the school conference room.  Attendance by all council members is expected. 

Responsibilities of the community council include:

• Participate in the development of an ongoing school improvement plan

• Participate in the development of a Trust Lands proposal and budget

• Serve as a member of the school curriculum review committee

• Serve as a member of the building needs committee

• Provide an opportunity for issues of concern in the community to be presented to the school administration

• Review school data
