Questions were asked about how things were going with the new band teacher. Information on how the program is running so far was shared by Principal Nielson.
Because of a recent suicide in the area, questions were asked about school efforts to help attend to the mental and emotional health of the students.
Principal Nielson shared the following: the school me2we program, weekly power groups for SEL lessons tied to the monthly theme, explore classes that teach the importance of physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being, positive culture and relationships between students and teachers as well as students and students.
The December theme is set to be "I am aware of my emotions. Asking myself "How am I feeling today" will help me know if I should ask for help."
