1. Out of district travel for all employees, certificated or non-certificated, must first be approved by the immediate supervising administrator who then secures approval of the Superintendent or designee. It is the responsibility of the immediate supervising administrator to see that any out of district activities adhere to the following: 1) Relate to ongoing programs of the school or district, and 2) are within reasonable distance from the district (student trips). The only exception is when said employee is involved in the activity under the jurisdiction of the Utah High School Activities Association.

2.  If the out of district travel is also out of state, the employee must also have prior approval of the Board. A completed Out of State Travel Request Form must be given to the district Superintendent’s secretary at least 8 days prior to the Board of Education meeting for the Board to take action on the request.
