North Sevier Middle School Community Council Meeting on 9/13/23
Those in attendance were Tammy Okerlund, Kylie Burgess, Sarah Mecham, Kayleen Lyman, Rod Hinck and Angela Johnson. Paul Mecham by phone.
We watched a video on responsibilities of the Community Council and School Trust Land Plan.
Paul Motioned to approve minutes from 3/22/23 and Sarah seconded the motion and everyone else were in favor.
We voted on a chair and vice-chair. Tammy Okerlund nominated Paul and Sarah Mecham and Kylie Seconded it and everyone else was in favor. Sarah as the chair and Paul as the Vice Chairman.
We had an official vote to adopt current rules of orders and procedures. Everyone was in favor.
Talked about the Trust Land Proposal to keep teachers and classroom sizes smaller. Also to help pay for Aides and to keep the library open. IXL and staff Professional Development.
We went over testing data compared to district and other schools in the state.
Scheduled yearly meetings. November 8, 2023, February 21, 2024 and March 20, 2024.
Talked about the fire drill and that we will be doing a lock down drill soon. School pictures and red ribbon week. Fundraiser starts on 9/14 and will run through 9/28. Parent teachers conference is on 9/26 and we will be focusing on school binder and canvas. Fall recess is coming up on October 20, 23 and 24.
