RHS TSSA Budget 2023-24
RHS has a goal of keeping our graduation rate over 95%. We are incorporating the following things to help with that goal -
- $7000 - to purchase licenses for Reading Plus, a reading program that builds certain skills and strategies to improve reading levels for students. This will be included in all of the 9th grade LA courses as a double blocked course.
- $1294 - to purchase “turnitin” licenses for the school to be able to check written work for plagiarism and academic rigor in all content areas to ensure college readiness.
- $8,000 - for professional development with RTI for the intervention classes
- $199,185 - Teachers salaries plus fringe benefits. This will provide additional support to Math and Language Arts. This will reduce class sizes, provide opportunities for additional co-teaching periods and intervention support. There will also be some used to support the music department with an accompanist for choir.
- $25,000 - Credit Recovery program and coordinator and teacher.
- $12,000 - Due to attendance issues over the last few years that have negatively impacted student performance, RHS will hire a part-time attendance secretary to help track daily attendance and set goals with individual students that are developing habitual attendance issues, contact and schedule parent conferences and follow-up with students. This position will also monitor the expected increase in students required to attend youth court and JJS to assure that students are completing the requirements and are making the necessary changes to their attendance habits so they can be successful.
The total of these funds equals $252.479
