North Sevier Middle School Community Council March 20, 2024
Those in attendance are Rod Hinck, Angela Johnson, Kayleen Lyman, Sarah Mecham, Paul Mecham, Tammy Okerlund and Kylie Burgess.
Paul Motioned to approve the minutes from our February 21, 2024 community council meeting and everyone was in favor. We talked about Trustland Plan for the 2024-2025 school year. We will need to use all monies to keep our teaching staff and schedule that we have now. This allows us to keep 3 sections in each grade and our intervention classes. We will lose one of our aides. In the past we have used it to cover Aides, part of teacher wages, scope and various other things needed for the classroom. Those will be covered by another fund. All voted in favor of the plan as outlined.
We talked about doing an extra fundraiser waiting to hear back from Chad Lloyd. It will be a read-a-thon. We want to try it out at the end of this year to see how it goes. If we do well enough, we will use it to replace our candy and wrapping fundraiser that we do at the beginning of school.
We will have Spring Break 3/25-29 and we will have White Ribbon Week when we return from Spring break. It is Digital Safety Week. April 16 is mid-term and May 17 is the last day to turn in work for 4th quarter. Our last day of school this year is May 24. Teacher Appreciation is May 6-10.
Mr. Hinck shared his appreciation for the Community Council Members and their service over the year.
Mr. Hinck motioned that we adjourn our meeting. It was seconded by Paul and everyone was in favor. The meeting was adjourned.
