Ashman Elementary School PTO/Community Council Elections
School Year 2020-21
Dear Parents,
We are currently looking for a new President-Elect of our PTO/Community Council. If elected the individual will serve a two-year term. One year as the president elect and one year as the president. PTO/School Community Councils help in many different ways throughout the year. It does not take a lot of your time and it is a great way to be more involved in the school and with your child’s education. Please fill out the bottom of this form and bring it to the school anytime between now and April 1, 2020
As a School Community Council member, you can contribute to the education of students in our school. Education is a partnership involving parents, students, school staff, the Board of Education, local businesses and the community. Your involvement in the council gives you the opportunity to strengthen that partnership, and to be part of a dedicated team working to ensure a high quality and accountable education system for the children in our area. Your participation can make a difference!
Benefits to members of a PTO/School Community Council (SCC) include:
• Learning about educational research and factors that impact student achievement;
• Being an important partner in the education system, whose views are valued;
• Contributing to the goal of improving student achievement;
• Having a vehicle through which to express opinions; and
• Being informed about what is happening at the school.

Ashman Elementary School Community Council Election will be held: April 21, 2020
Ballots will be sent home in student’s folders and can be returned in the folders or brought to the office anytime during school hours. Winner will be announced during April 21st PTO/Community Council meeting.
