Title one was initially passed in 1965 under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
It is the largest federal assistance program for our nation’s schools. These supplemental funds provide students the opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and help to close educational achievement gaps.
Ashman is currently using all Title One funding to pay for 14 Instructional Assistants to work with students one on one, during reading groups and during intervention times.
Title One also wants to engage families as partners. Parents are a key to students’ success.
We currently invite parents to:
Volunteer in child’s classroom
Come Read with Me twice a year (Come read with your child)
Dads on Duty
PTO Activities in the school
