How Trust Land Funds were used last year (show last year’s plan on website)

Title I

Salina Elementary has utilized Trust Lands funds the following ways during the last 2018-19 school year:

  • Salina Elementary will hire teachers to reduce class size and Instructional Assistants For Math and Reading Intervention and as a support for Teacher Led Differentiated Instruction and Interventions. These funds will also help cover the cost of our District Art teacher
  • TSSA (Teacher and Student Success Plan) used to help reduce class size by paying the salary of ½ day teacher.
  • Teacher professional development opportunities and PLC’s.

  • Materials to support our core reading/math programs and/or our reading and math intervention program. Take home parent/student communicator folders. Academic awards and incentives for students.
  • School Safety and Digital Citizenship- Wolf tracks, 2nd Steps, and White Ribbon Week in the spring (digital citizenship).

  • The purchase of the Typing Pal Program for 3-5 grades, to help the students increase their keyboarding skills.  This also helps prepare them for the end of year tests, which are all computer based. The RISE test specifically requires all students to do a writing portion in which they have to type their response in detail.
  • The purchase of bulbs for the teacher projectors as well as color printer cartridges for the school’s color printer.
  • Any remaining funds will be used to purchase software for computers, Smartboards, iPads, iPods, or audio enhancement devices.

Amount of Trust Lands allotted to the school for the 2019-20 school year.

$60,915.28

Rules of Procedure:

All meetings are open to the public and the public is welcome to attend.

Minutes will be kept of all meetings, prepared in draft format for approval at the next scheduled meeting.  The council follows the timeline for the school year above.

Meetings shall be conducted and action taken according to very simplified rules of parliamentary procedure.

A motion (or an action to be taken by the council) is stated as a motion.  Someone else on the council “seconds” the motion.

We are working now to prepare and plan for the upcoming year with the same plan.

Members in attendance are:

Greg Parsons, Jacey Porter, Gaylene Dobish, Lisa Torgerson, and Andrea Moore

A brief statement of matters proposed, discussed or decided:

We got word last week that in our elementary early literacy assessment Acadience (formerly known as DIBELS) Sevier School District ranked in the top 2 school districts in Utah at 82% of students making typical or above typical progress. The Reaper will be running an article on this in the coming week(s).

Our CC meeting scheduled for the year.   A video of the use for Trustlands and where the money comes from was shown.   Last year’s funds were displayed from the website and members were shown how to access the Trustlands site.

TSSA ( Teacher and Student Success Plan) is new to our funds and a separate part to help reduce class size.

We are developing and preparing a plan for the upcoming year and looking at the data is seems to be working.  It was suggested to keep on doing what we have been doing.
