1107 - Community Councils

Each school shall organize a community council. This is a body organized for the purpose of assisting the school to achieve the attributes stated in Utah Code

Annotated Sec. 53E-2-302. The Board intends that a Community Council shall act by the formation of consensus within the school community, and shall be an advisory body and therefore shall not have authority to bind the local school or the school district by its decisions. It shall however be encouraged to submit to the school and the board its views on the establishment and implementation of the educational goals at the local school site and upon decisions at the school site in which it takes and interest or with regard to which its views are sought by either the management of the local school site or by the District.

The membership of the Community Council shall comply with the requirements as outlined in the Utah Code.
