Community Council March 16, 2022
Those in attendance were Rod Hinck, Angela Johnson, Kerry Burr and Andrea Moore, Paul Mecham, Charlyn Roberts, Dani Hallows. Rod voted that we approve the minutes from 2/2/2022. The 2/2/22 minute were approved by all.
We reviewed the 2021-2022 School Trust Land Plan and current expenditures. We then discussed the 2022-2023 School Trust Land Plan. This plan includes the following: Staff Salary to keep current schedule ($14,500), Additional hours for intervention aide ($5200), Hire an additional intervention aide ($14,400), Keep the library open after school ($1000), Staff Professional Development (($3400), & IXL for ELA use ($3400).
The following were discussed if extra monies was available: One EXTRA Full Time Aide - Special Ed & Intervention ($14,400), Purchase new & current reading books for our media (vary), Student Incentives for good work/achievement (not exceed $2 per student), Printers for classroom instruction/projects ($2,000), Printer cartridges for classroom instruction/projects ($2,000), SCOPE Magazine for ELA classrooms (~$500) & Typing program for Language Arts curriculum ($400).
A vote was taken and all voted in favor of the plan as outlined
We then talked about teacher appreciation coming up the last week in May. Charlyn is in charge and will get other parents to help out to bring things each day. Angela will get her a count of teachers and staff for handouts etc. We talked about White Ribbon week, Spring Break (4/11-4/15). We also talked about the Rise testing coming up . We will start with writing (8th grade only), math, ELA and then science. Last day to turn in work for 4th quarter is 5/20. Last day of school is the 26th of May.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:04 PM with a motion and a second. All approved.
