FIRE
1. The person locating the fire will pull the fire alarm.
2. Evacuate students and staff to a safe distance outside of the building.
3. Follow the normal fire drill routine. If normal route(s) are too dangerous, follow an alternate route.
4. Teachers should take a class roster and account for all students. Roll must be taken after evacuation.
5. Principal calls 911, notifies authorities and superintendent.
6. After consulting with superintendent, principal may move students and staff to primary relocation center if building is damaged or weather is inclement.
7. No one should re-enter the buildings(s) until declared safe by fire service personnel.
8. Principal notifies students and staff of termination of emergency and resumption of normal operations.
FOOD POISONING
1. Principal should contact school nurse. Determine severity of illness and how wide spread.
2. If severe problem call 911 and administer first aid until medics arrive. If not a severe problem administer first aid until parents arrive.
3. Close cafeteria. Secure items used in food preparation for examination and tests.
4. Notify parents or those listed on emergency release form to collect ill students.
5. Call the superintendent=s office and Public Health Agencies.
6. File incident report ASAP.
FIRE ~ FOOD POISONING
